is on film are intensifying in parts of the middle east. violent demonstrations outside of u.s. military bases in afghanistan are becoming more frequent. danielle nottingham shows us the destruction in the country's capital. >> afghan authorities raised through the streets out to stop a violent demonstration. hundreds of protestors set several fires near u.s. military base on the outskirts of town, afghan police were able to break up the crowd and firefighters put out the flames. but authorities believe that there could be more violence over the movie made in america, that ridicules the prophet mohammed. more than two dozen countries have seen anti-american protests over this movie. but the situation in afghanistan is fragile, after more deadly attacks against u.s. and nato forces. over the weekend for americans were killed when an afghan police officer pulled his weapon and started firing. already this year 51 international service members have been killed in these types of attacks. 15 in august alone. u.s. officials say that they are stepping up security to protect americans in afghani

for the 12 year-old girl was killed after being hit head-on by an s u v yesterday afternoon. she was biking home from school and police say that she was riding against traffic wearing a helmet. the coroner's office identified her, she and her family moved here from mexico two weeks ago. this woman said she was the oldest of four. >> beautiful, loving. outgoing. and her mother as well, i mean, she just go right into coming to school. >> she was a student at this middle school, staff brought in grief counselors to help students and teachers deal with the tragedy. parents say that their kids are asking tough questions at the wish that had the answers to. >> they always ask why it happens to someone so innocent and so young. >> as for the investigation, the driver of the s u v was visiting from out of state and is cooperating with them. >> there are no signs of impairment at this point or any laws that were violated but we're certainly exploring all options and making sure we understand exactly what happened and how this occurred. >> this intersection has been they point of contention in the ci

, the negotiation is expected to resume today. today the u.s. military transferred control of a prison afghan forces. the defense mizzen bestired saluted soldiers that will now run the prison at the airbase in the hope thousands of taleban fighters and terror suspects, the transfer is a key step to with strong foreign troops from afghanistan by the year 2014. the u.s. will still patrol one block where 50 non afghans are being held. the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks and that ground zero millions have visited the memorial since it opened one year ago but there are still some problems there, a budget battle has delayed the opening of the new museum bearing. right now there are thousands of artifacts in storage. when it is finished the museum will also have a spot for unidentified human remains. >> there was a very strong push by the families to bring the remains back to what they called, and what we call, sacred bed rock. >> not all the families agree, some say that the remains to be placed above ground and others are concerned that the entire world trade center plaza has become more of a

in concord and 67 degrees in san jose. 80 showing up in some of the valleys and '60s and '70s inside of the bay with pettifog along the coastline, tonight low clouds and fog likely to make a return, moving inside of the bay. around the state you are looking at high temperatures. 90 degrees in fresno and 89 degrees in sacramento. 70 as you make your way into the high country. cooler for today but high- pressure going to start building into the bay area with temperatures warming up. computer models show more fog overnight into tomorrow morning but i think the remainder of the afternoon is looking pretty good with only patchy fog along the coastline keeping the temperatures cool and in the '50s and '60s with seventies and eighties in the south bay and as you make your way to the east bay those centers move up into the 80s. and then, looking out to the bay, not bad, 65 in san fransisco and sent to an oakland and dosimeters will stay nice and toasty, thursday and friday getting hot with some ninety's. >> we like toasty. >> except that the coast where it will be cool ... >> trader joe's re

. the suspect is described as a middle eastern or hispanic man in his early 40's, about 5 ft. 9 in. with a medium build, the victim said that he looked like an average jogger. new details about a student's prized cello. we got off the phone with the san fransisco conservatory of music and tell us that the cello has been found so that is good news, the instrument similar to the one in this photograph, was taken sunday afternoon from a music students locker, it turned up around midnight but at this point no one is saying where. the father of the student posted these pictures on line of a couple that he thinks are the culprits. he says they entered the building empty handed and left with a cello. officers say that they're not connected with the school, that classical instrument is worth at least $11,000. >> chic-fil-a fast food chain has reportedly agreed to stop giving money to anti-gay organizations. the restaurant came under fire after president made his anti gay marriage stance clear back in july, followed by a lot of backlash, as you may remember, including boycotts. today chicag
